Episode 1 - "Smutto"

Inspired by an episode of "Schlock Mercenary" by Howard Tayler, the Old Wolf attempts "Smutto."  He survives the ordeal.


 

"Smutto"

 

Gently fold together equal amounts of hot natto and huitlacoche. Serve hot, and leave at once for other lands.

 

Episode 2 - "Madeleines"

As penance for inflicting "smutto" on the world, the Old Wolf shows you how to make the dessert responsible for Marcel Proust's "À la recherche de temps perdu"... the Madeleine.


 

Madeleines

4                    Eggs

½ C     Powdered Sugar

1 C      White Flour

1 tsp.    Baking Powder

¼ lb.    Butter

            Salt

 

Allow the butter to soften.  Mix all ingredients together.  Pour into madeleine moulds, lightly greased or Teflon™ coated. (If you don't have these, cupcake tins will work - fill each cupcake 1/2 full.)  Bake 15 minutes at 375°. Don’t open the oven until the 15 minutes are up.

 

Dust with powdered sugar and serve.

 

Makes 24.
